Minardi Piume believes that it is the responsibility of each of us to create a better world. This
is why we double-check our suppliers, to be sure that they share our same values and care for animals.
Not everybody knows that down and feathers are by-products of the food industry and that our mission
consists in improving this “pre-consumer waste” turning it into one of the most exclusive products in
the world. Processing down and feathers is therefore a revalua-tion process to obtain a highly prized
product. Our commitment goes even further: we are developing an environment friendly production, which
consistently reduced waste and pollution for many years.
No live plucking
Minardi Piume strongly condemns any form of live plucking.
Rigorous checks at the origin and our deep know-how of raw material as well as regular external audits
ensure that our production chain is free from any form of harmful prac-tices against
animals.
Reprocessed down and feathers
The life cycle of down and feathers is endless. We are the
only company in Italy equipped with a complete production chain to reprocess down and feathers. After
recovering the filling material from “post-consumer waste”, we wash and sanitize it to give it a new
sustainable and world friendly life. Our reprocessed down and feathers articles are certified
according to the GRS (Global Recycled Standard, TextileExchange)
Vegetable fillings
For those who do not want to use animal products but demand
the same sustainable and authentic features of down and feathers, our unfaltering research selects and
processes 100% vegetable fibres.
Solar panels
Part of the factory’s energy supply is provided by 1700 m2 of
solar panels, which reduce our CO2 output by some 7830 KG a month.
Biomass cogeneration
Thanks to a woodchips biomass cogenerator, we simultaneously
produce energy and heat, which are totally used for our production processes.
Fertilizers for agriculture
Nothing is thrown away: thanks to its high content of slow
release nitrogen, we even transform our production waste in organic fertilizers for agricultural use.
